Alright friends, here are Michael + Carrianna and they’re brilliant. Clearly, they have awesome style and are practically models, but what you might not be able to tell from these photos is that they are hilarious, kind, and just so easygoing. *Side note: at this point, can we just all agree that all of the couples who hire me are like, super chill and laid back? I definitely notice this common trait in all my couples. Cool? Cool.* So I met these guys for dinner at Brasil in Montrose (if you haven’t gone, go!) and instantly hit it off. After chatting a bit, Carrianna and I realize we attended the same national youth gathering with our respective church youth groups more than 10 years ago (as she was living in Alaska, and I in Texas). Crazy.
After hours of chatting about their fun time spent at LSU, their vision for their wedding, and all things good in life, we had a tentative engagement session plan in place. As we walked to our cars together, Carrianna said something that I won’t forget. She said as the wedding planning was progressing and as they met and connected with all of their wedding vendors, it felt so cool to realize that all of us would be there with them to celebrate with her and Michael on one of the biggest days of their lives. I can’t even tell you how special and humbled that made me feel when she said that. A) I love little intimate moments like that, just two humans who have known each other for 3 hours connecting on a personal level like that. I truly appreciate those kinds of interactions. B) I feel so grateful that couples put their trust in my vision and allow me to serve them the best that I can on one of the most memorable days of their lives. I left feeling so blessed to have crossed paths with them, now having two new folks who would appreciate the excessive Michael Scott quotes I use in everyday conversation.
We met up about a month later for their engagement session and it was a dream. They showed up looking like a million bucks (duh) and we bounced ideas off one another as we walked around Hermann Park right near their wedding venue, The Houston Museum of Natural Science. Such a fun session with the loveliest people. So looking forward to their wedding!
