GALVESTON BOUDOIR SESSION
film photographer Christine Gosch
You’ve seen this lovely lady, Carolyn, before. Twice, in fact. I just can’t stay away from her! She radiates beauty and has the best smile.
As I mentioned in the blog post from her Moody Gardens bridal session, she didn’t have any availability to come to her Galveston, Texas wedding venue before her wedding as she lives a couple of hours away and has a very busy schedule. We also didn’t have any time to photograph her bridal session on the day of her Austin engagement session, so the day before the wedding it is!
She utilized the day before her wedding for her hair + makeup trial so she was able to have the same look for her boudoir and bridal session that we shot immediately after her boudoir session. When I arrived to her hotel suite at Moody Gardens, she was wrapping up with Makeup and Hair by Heather, a Houston area HMU team. The look was classic and sweet, so we went that route for her boudoir session. She wore a lace bridal robe for most of it, her wedding day jewelry, and we also used her veil as an accessory. Veils are an excellent detail to incorporate int your bridal session because it's sultry and mysterious. It just depends on how much you gather the material. It can leave room for the imagination, or the exact opposite, if you catch my drift. ;)
As always, I recommend shooting in a light-filled space, as the film stock I use is super light-hungry. The more light the better, and the entire wall was essentially a window. Clearly this room fit the bill. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a hotel room with more light. So we vacated the room of hair + makeup folks, the groom, and the maid of honor and had about 30 minutes to squeeze in a mini boudoir session. Magic with this queen!
As always, thanks for reading through. Gold star for you!
