Light & Organic Wedding Inspiration
HOUSTON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
My sister-in-law Morgan is a wonderful planner. She’s got such an eye for detail and I’m forever grateful to her for putting together this stunner of a session to photograph. Her vision was inspired by light, airy, and organic wedding ideas that any bride was sure to connect with, as it was pretty classic and timeless. Her first item on the agenda when planning the shoot was to make sure there was a pair of seasoned, talented hands to help with the details and styling of the day. The natural choice was Heather Benge, who has such a knack for table scapes and detail styling. She had a beautiful idea (pictured above) to set the table wear symmetrically which was something I’d never seen before on a table.
Maria Maxit of Maxit Flower Design crafted the luscious floral arrangements, composed of all white blooms. They were like a dream, and they went perfectly with the Sareh Nouri gown from Mia Bridal Couture that Kat wore. I’m typically not a huge fan of big wedding dresses with full skirts, but the princess-like qualities of this gown were just to good.
The invitation suite by Jenny Sanders was light and flowy with a perfect gold wax seal. The common thread of gold flowed through to the beautiful, comfortable Bella Belle bridal shoes, the show stopping Susie Salesman ring, and brass candlesticks used throughout the shoot.
This was the first session that I photographed mostly on film. I was so anxious that I had forgotten to shoot something (since I couldn’t go through the images to check on a digital screen) or that the film wouldn’t turn out. But it turns out I got some new favorite images from this day that I can use forever within a wedding portfolio because they’re so timeless!
