4 BOLD WEDDING DETAILS YOU CAN INCORPORATE INTO YOUR WEDDING
Houston wedding photographer Christine Gosch
There are so many different routes that your wedding design can go. The beauty of the modern wedding is that it’s an event that can seriously be whatever the heck you want it to be. I paired up with Water to Wine Events (queen wedding planner and amazing human being) to showcase some of the edgier ideas you can work into your wedding day plans. If you don’t consider yourself to be a traditional or soft bride or groom, here are a couple of different bold wedding details you might be able to incorporate into your perfect day.
bold and sleek makeup
What we did for this shoot was a bold red lip and sleek top eyeliner. The rest of the makeup was kept simple and understated to help the bold lip really have it’s moment in the spotlight. Adorne Artistry really nailed this look! They’re absolutely one of my favorite hair and makeup teams to work with.
pops of dark flowers
In a lot of weddings we see blushes, warm tones, and variations of white in the floral arrangements. While that’s a safe and beautiful route to go, it’s a bit more daring and bold to go with a dark bouquet (or include some dark pops within your florals). These flowers from Ode to Joy Flowers were the perfect dark blooms for a bolder and more luxurious bouquet (especially since Ode to Joy Flowers uses mostly blooms in her work with very little greenery).
velvet table linens
All I could think of for a descriptive here is that if I showed up to a wedding with velvet table linens, I would have to scoop my jaw up off the floor. Even though velvet isn’t an uncommon linen, it’s definitely an easy way to bring your wedding reception tables from ordinary to extraordinary. Instantly more luxurious. These velvet linens, in addition to the tableware and amazing ghost chairs) are from Aztec Tents and Events.
wedding gown with buttons down the back
I absolutely loved this bold detail from this gown. Buttons all. the. way. down, honey. It’s just enough to make your gown stand out. This gown is from designer Essence of Australia from Houston Bridal Gallery.
If you’re in the market for some edgier wedding design than what you’re seeing plastered all over Pinterest, I would consider giving Haylee Handly with Water to Wine Events a call. She’s got a unique, elevated eye and is is a logistics master. Thanks for reading, y’all. Have a great week!
