It’s that time of year! I love love love October and all it has to offer, including Halloween. The experience of trick-or-treating has always been so much fun. As a kid, I always used to love the anticipation of going home from school, dressing up in my costume, and heading out to trick-or-treat with my parents. And now that I’m a parent, I still get excited for my kids to get home from school so we can go door-to-door in their costumes. My other favorite Halloween elements are scary movies and spooky decorations. If you’re a big Halloween fan, you might even want to incorporating some of those magical feels into your big day. Today, I’m sharing a couple of ways you can incorporate subtle Halloween inspiration into your fall wedding!
INVITATIONS
Your wedding invitations are the first hint to your guests what your wedding will be like, and you have one shot to leave the impression that you want! If that includes any Halloween elements, here are some examples of how you can pull that off. I chose examples that could have been torn right out of Winifred Sanderson’s spell book. I love the textured handmade papers, hand drawn illustrations, and the calligraphy that reminds me of Halloween.
FLOWERS
Your floral decorations are an easy way to embrace the season. The seasonal availability for your florals will dictate the color palette and flower type you’re able to have at your wedding, and your florist will help you to navigate your choices. Darker tones & funky textures always remind me of the drama of Halloween. Some good flowers you might want to look into are chocolate cosmos, fringed tulips, Queen of Night tulips, Arabian Night dahlias, and hellebores. Your reception centerpieces, bridal bouquet, boutonnières, or any other decorative flower arrangements at your wedding can help to set the Halloween mood!
FAVORS
Leave your guests a reminder of your epic wedding with Halloween-inspired favors. You can provide mini champagne bottles that match your color palette, or taper candles to bring home. The candles were a little more Dia de los Muertos than Halloween, but the idea still translates.
Thanks for reading to the end- you get a gold star. Have a safe and happy halloween!
